• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Watch the percentage of the divide in Neath/Port Talbot nowadays?
More Swansea these days, helped massively by the premier league days.

Still Cardiff lot around but more of the older guys who are quieter these days.
You will always see a number of Swansea tops with the kids at any football themed things, can count on one hand the amount of Cardiff shirts you see kids wearing.

Must add that's based on PT

Not having that at all. The caewern lot weren’t on the scene until the late 80’s and the PT lot were far from shithouses, especially when they were all together they had some who could more than hold their hands up, Tino, Marcus, Anton, Clunis to name just a few. I will agree that there didn’t seem to be many Neath Jacks, which looked worse in midweek games on the trains, seemed only to be the lot that I knocked about with, but Neath has always been black and white.
Melli and Marcus Thomas?

There were Caewern boys fighting in 84 and on our pitch.
My comments on the PVM only go on my experience and what I've read (that they wrote). Perhaps they were okay at some points but I never heard anything.
I remember, on more than one occasion, being confronted by Cardiff in Neath in 1987/88/89.
They used to use the Duke in the night and the Edward in the day. And the Bear.
Anyway, it's all subjective as we've all had different experiences.

I recall a couple of encounters with them waiting on Neath station platform on night games for the few of us returning after the game.

I had my ribs cracked by one of them on a night game at Neath station. Hurt for weeks after as well. The bastards 🤣

Aye there may have been a handful of them back then, but they didn’t start appearing in numbers until the end of the 80’s, their numbers being swelled by some from Skewen. They couldn’t hold a light to the PT lot though.

As it happens, we last encountered them in Neath workies about 10 years ago. It was around this time of year as they had been in there watching a Welsh rugby game and we went there to meet a couple of the boys girlfriends. The police arrived around 20 minutes after we got there 🤣

After reading all comments, my thoughts remain the same, the Police won't want pockets of trouble everywhere, their resources won't stretch,it's just easier for them to carry on as it is.
Won't change in our lifetimes.
