They never learn. I wonder if he'll last longer than Solskjaer

Probably the best decision they could have made given they're the best performing side in the PL since he took charge and the lack of top-class managers likely to be available this summer.

Appointing Solskjaer is often seen as a disaster, but they actually finished 3rd and 2rd in his two full seasons (since then they've finished 6th, 3rd, 8th, 15th, probably 3rd this season). Failing to win a trophy and their disastrous singings of Sancho and Ronaldo led to his downfall.

In the list of United managers since Ferguson, he ranks ahead of Moyes, Van Gaal, Rangnick and Amorin for sure.

See no reason for them to replace him, he's done a good job. At least they haven't been daft enough to offer him a 5 year contract off the bat.

Same thing happened with Solskjaer at the wheel until the wheels completely fell off.

Same thing will happen here.

Devil's advocate, this has echoes of Sheehan. But I do agree, they don't have many better options.

I like the appointment a lot more than Mourinho to Real Madrid
That's an interesting one. I feel his best days as a coach are behind him. Unless they're hoping he'll come in kick some arse.

I feel like they need a Klopp style appointment. When he came in at Liverpool he turned the club right around.

Problem is, where is the next Klopp.

For me Carrick is a good choice
Knows the club inside out ,
3 Or 4 quality signings should see them push on next season .

Totally agree with you. They've been terrible at finding the next Klopp so far, although I'm also not sure the infrastructure off the pitch is in place for a manger to succeed at United like it was at Liverpool.

They've tried promoting from a lower-level PL team (Moyes), hotshot managers from abroad who may have been the next Klopp (ten Haag and Amorim), proven top-level managers (Mourinho, Van Gaal), now they're having their second go at appointing an ex-player who had a successful caretaker spell.

None have worked so far. At least this route is likely to be cheaper than the others!

Absolute basket case of club compared to how they were run during Ferguson's time.

Lurch from one bad signing to the next.
