Not sure about no more ticket sales. Does that mean a ban on away fans?

If Abramovich decides to write off the 1.5b debt, will FFP come into play....points deduction etc etc ?

Early days but if they have a special licence, you'd have thought they could carry on as a business as long as he doesn't benefit.

Effectively, it has to. No money into the club.

Not sure how this works with TV rights etc though, which rather dwarf all that. That happens at stages throughout the season. Or, if not resolved by the summer, season ticket sales for next year.

Suspect there will be some sort of solution when it becomes politically expedient to do so.

I'm sure more details will come out but current contracts are covered so far. That should cover TV payments but don't clubs get extra for being a live match. Would that now mean no more Chelsea games on TV.

I wonder if all detail has been considered.

Looks like Govt statement says that club will receive TV income, and be able to sell food and drink, just not merchandise or matchday tickets.

Bit of a muddle tbh.

My bet is they'll let him off in the end. This is PR. Johnson will probably have agreed all of this with him. He'll get his money out of everything one way or another.

They’ll eventually come out with whatever populist scheme their rabid bunch of frothing at the mouth supporters are clamouring for.

This is basically to stop money getting back to Russia who are obviously involved in all sorts of atrocities.
Slightly left field observation, but with the regime at Newcastle indexed to their own atrocities, why not carry out the same kinda sanctions? Yes, I get the difference, but principal is the same?
