I didn’t realise Chester’s pitch was entirely in Wales

“The club’s Swansway Chester Stadium straddles the border, with the front gates, car park and main office door in England but the pitch in Wales”

Where fans would gather is in Wales so no crowds allowed.

Maybe they should have a “CROESO I GYMRU” sign above the players tunnel 🤔

Just highlights what a total cock Drakeford is. And now seems likely he'll be happy to see tens of thousands of egg chasing fans cross the border for the 6 nations.
Fckn idiot.

I wonder if erecting a temporary stand in the car park would offer a palatable solution?

I hadn't previously realised TNS play in Shropshire.

Some of the rules are bizarre to say the least.

On December 30th we had tickets to take the grandchildren to the Cardiff Christmas light show in Bute park. Entirely outdoor event that was cancelled under the new rules. Instead we went to Plantasia which was very crowded and indoors.

I can’t really see the issue here myself.
If their ground is in Wales they follow the same rules as the rest of us,that’s not saying I agree with all the rules mind.

So, Johnson right, Drakeford wrong, eh? It is the Tory government in London which is out of step with the other UK nations. Whether or not Welsh rugby fans possibly travel to London to watch a match is their prerogative, however unwise for obvious reasons.
Look in the mirror to see your final description.

Wales has consistently had more severe restrictions throughout the pandemic and I’m sure Drakeford is doing it for the right reasons but the unfortunate facts are that Wales has a higher incidence of cases and deaths overall than England.
Welsh people and Welsh businesses therefore have a right to ask whether it’s all been worth it. Wales is also the only country not to be holding an individual inquiry into the handling of the pandemic. You have to wonder why.

It’s hard to argue right or wrongs, but the purpose is to protect NHS, and are Welsh trusts declaring states of emergency and needing the army? I’ve no dog in this fight, but I do believe Drakeford is trying to do what he thinks is right, based on scientific advice, only constrained by funding, and that Johnson couldn’t give a shit what is right and is only interested in himself. So to criticise Drakefords motivations, whatever you think of the actions and to laud Johnson’s England is bizarre to say the least.

If Johnson turns out right, it is pure luck. The risk is huge. But like all risks…if it doesn’t bite, then you act as if it didn’t exist and anyone who insures wasted their money. Laughable really, in terms of the primary responsibilities of a government to protect its people.

I largely agree with you and I didn’t criticise Drakeford’s motivations, quite the opposite. If I was running a pub or restaurant in Wales I might be pretty p****d off with what’s been happening though for no discernible health benefit. I also haven’t lauded Johnson for a second. He might get very lucky that his party wouldn’t tolerate the kind of measures we see in the Celtic nations and if he does he’ll make political capital out of it later despite that being laughable.
Re the Army, they’ve been helping the Welsh ambulance service since October and their numbers were increased this week as well as more helping deliver the booster rollout since December in Wales.

Yes, sorry I wasn’t referring to you criticising Drakeford’s motivations mate, or praising Johnno. Your post was just an ‘in’ for my opinion. Poorly written by me.

If we had somehow played Chester away in the FA Cup today and we could have gone to watch a game on Welsh soil, it would have highlighted how dull these rules are
