I don't think it matters how much Cooper did or didn't rate Peterson, maybe he was given assurances that nobody would be leaving and he's unhappy that he was lied to. That's just speculation, but it's one of a number of potential scenarios

There is no way he posted it as a wind up. He posted it as he wanted people to think he was in the know and spread the story. As soon as the sensible people knew it just wasn't true he claimed to be hacked, now he isn't a journalist and now he claims its a wind up.
