I’m currently having lunch in my van near Llandeilo

That’s basically me. I work longer hours at home than I do on office days. My choice of course but I get way more done too. Some jobs are best played out at home, someone l know goes to office 2/3 a week and the other days are spent at home and they they end up working longer hrs as well very often.
It’s not me by the way, couldn’t do my job from the house,![]()
This has to be the way forward. The places that have adopted this have shown an increase in productivity amongst their teams.A four day week is my next mission. The wheels of my HR chums are already being turned.
I think that will be a step too far for some HR teams. We might have to see a little stretch of Monday to Thursday hours as a first step. This has to be the way forward. The places that have adopted this have shown an increase in productivity amongst their teams.
Four days should be four days as well. None of this working 37.5 hours over four days nonsense.
I suppose it all depends on the industry as well.I think that will be a step too far for some HR teams. We might have to see a little stretch of Monday to Thursday hours as a first step.
It’s certainly within reach within automotive manufacturing. Car plants will work 24/7 (with the exception of a Saturday night) in some cases, but the office staff hours are not aligned with blue collar hours. It just needs a little bit of open mind thinking and some organisation, definitely a theme to keep exploring.I suppose it all depends on the industry as well.
Folk don’t like change, they feel threatened by it. Folk also don’t like seeing others having work ‘perks’ which are out of reach for them (usually due to the industry type).Probably not surprising given our demographics but there are a few dinosaurs on her. The world is changing in ways I don’t understand and/or approve of so it must change back to suit me.
Agree with all of that.Folk don’t like change, they feel threatened by it. Folk also don’t like seeing others having work ‘perks’ which are out of reach for them (usually due to the industry type).
Absolutely! It pisses me right off that I can't work from home but my wife can!Folk don’t like change, they feel threatened by it. Folk also don’t like seeing others having work ‘perks’ which are out of reach for them (usually due to the industry type).

My wife works in education, but I’ve stopped giving her the satisfaction of knowing how envious I am of her quarter of a year holiday entitlement.Absolutely! It pisses me right off that I can't work from home but my wife can!![]()
