Credit Where it’s Due.

It might not suit some narratives, but we are finally on the right path. We're starting to look like we have found the right combination: a bright, young, enthusiastic manager who has finally got his trusted backroom staff watching his back, and a couple of Swansea's finest on board too. What's not to like? 🫶
Don’t share your optimism on the playing front but everything else about the night was fantastic.

Club did a fantastic job last night, they come in for a lot of criticism at times but last nights build up was pure theatre.

Like it or not but it’s all about the “ product “ these days , nearly 21k and a win ….job done👍
Well to be honest I thought the sheets of paper on the seats were a little bit “small time” and gave the Wrexham circus too much of a nod. But who am I to argue

It seems some have an issue about how the club hyped this game up, personally I thought it was fantastic and like it or not it’s the way football has gone.

What would you prefer ….just another game approach? It was a full house and if entices a thousand people more to come to the next game then great.

Some of you need to get over yourselves, if you’re embarrassed that the club elevated the fixture to something it didn’t deserve then that’s your problem, there’s an element of their support that I detest and I thoroughly enjoyed beating them…uppa Swans👍

Indeed. From the queue at Rossi’s to the atmosphere it was like going back about 12 years. Was only weeks ago when the talk here was the 14k crowds.

I thought from a far the Male Choir specifically signing Franco 'Cranberries' song 😂 and the signs and flames came across well. Maybe I am easily pleased.

I'm not quite sure why people do think it was 'just another game'. We're playing a Welsh club, in The Championship...and it isn't Cardiff.

It'll be our biggest fixture of the season (including the away game), whether people like it or not. Sure, we'll never dislike Wrexham as much as Cardiff, but the Welsh rivalry is still there, IMO.

The whole US/Disney thing is a load of cringe, but we gain nothing from not tapping into it. Just ignore it and watch the game.

A lot of it depends on maintaining the interest that drives the commercial deals. A couple of years spent swimming in the mid table Championship mire will turn a lot of people off. So far they've basically had a story to tell each season. Finishing twelfth after a campaign of kick and rush won't put viewers in seats by comparison.

And don't underplay Rob McElhenny in this. He was the one initially looking for a club and talked Reynolds into it.
I don't think they'll remain a mid-table Championship side, they will 100% be promoted at some point.

This has to be their current manager's final season, making that more possible with probably a high profile replacement coming in for next season. His football is dire, they sign the likes of O'Brien and Broadhead and then resort to kick and rush.

They have already brought in investment which is a must if they are to take the next step, but sustaining a Premier League side and keep it interesting for an American audience is where the challenge will be. Americans are fickle, and there is a time limit to it for sure, the town is too small to sustain it in the long run and the easy connections from north Wales to Liverpool and Manchester, coupled with the sheer amount of Scousers and Mancs along the north Wales coast mean they won't be able to attract the numbers to sustain the support required to remain in the Premier League, meaning the bubble is bound to burst, and once that happens, there is every likelihood they'll tank down the divisions in a similar fashion to what we did in the 80s.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere on Friday. Gutted that where our seats are situated we only got snatches of the choir due to that ill timed deluge of rain. For those old enough to remember the old comedian Norman Collier who's act used to comprise of his mic cutting out intermittently - well it was like that. Luckily someone posted the choir warming up on the concourse and my god they sounded good. Cant beat a Welsh male voice choir.

Just hope that the whole evening sparked enough interest for less regular supporters to turn up to more home games. It was a glimpse of what can be achieved with a full house.
