• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Was talking to a Reading fan earlier - he is totally fed up (as are most of us) with the Covid restrictions but he is almost hopeful that they do not come back given their start to the season which he believes is down to there being less pressure on the players as there are no crowds "baying for blood" (maybe this is more the way that Reading fans watch their team!)

I personally am struggling to see any crowds (of note) back to football at any stage this season? I can see a possibility of restricted crowds coming back in but the cost to the clubs of restricted crowds may be as prohibitive to their finances as no crowds?

what's everyone's view?

I agree with your predictions. To be honest I've lost a lot of enthusiasm since the Americans took over. I wasn't going an awful lot just before lockdown and mainly i went to see family & friends if I did travel down. I think football without crowds is a little pointless but there you go. There's no scientific reason not to allow 20-30% of capacity back in but there are even more stupid restrictions in place elsewhere that are probably more important. Govt won't change its mind in the forseeable as they have a clear aim to ruin as many businesses as possible.

Not for me, each to their own and all that.

I couldn't think of anywhere worse to be than in a crowd of tanked up football fans.

People can't manage to go to the shop and follow those basic rules, let alone a raft of controls such as Coops has suggested.

People are too selfish, they will blame it on the politicians, stupid rules, the changing rules, immigrants, anything bar looking at themselves.

Hideous post. People aren't the problem. Powermakers are.

He’s right. Hardly a hideous post.

I predict football fans won't be attending matches for a good few years. This is the new normal. These tyrannical governments are not going to lessen restrictions, but impose stricter ones. These conspiracy theorists are starting to look like their bang on the money this time.

A slight overreaction there with the use of 'hideous'.

A good few years? Don't be silly. This time next year most of us will have had our behavioural characteristics reset via a large dose of the Bill Gates vaccine. It will be fine.

lol, i'm back of the queue for that vaccine, so i will not be attending any matches soon.

I do wonder not about 'when' we come back, but what we'll come back to.

There's discontent building, pundits with prominent platforms asking why people can sit in an indoor facility (cinema) outside a ground to watch the game, but not in a segregated outdoor space.

Tories never liked football, Thatcher was gagging to shut the whole thing down in the 80's
