The longer this circus goes on the more I get the feeling that he'll be here next season, he's been linked to various clubs for weeks, but those clubs have been courting others suggesting that nobody is that interested, could be his agent is pimping him around in the hope that one club bites.

Well we have a preseason to be getting on with, Winters should be setting a deadline of say 1st July to either show up or shut up.

Reports is he’s about to sign a 3YR deal with Crystal Palace :D

The absolute silence from the club with regards the situation or even about renewing a contract which has only a year to go speaks volumes though. They don't want him to stay, so issuing deadlines does us no good. They're giving him the time he needs to sort something else out and get us compensation rather than have to risk sacking him as next season progresses.

Clearly the case. If someone sniffs around a manager you want to keep, you try and retain them by at least offering an alternative. I don’t think Winter has ever rated him. Cooper’s ship sailed with his pal Birch. Shame he didn’t go at the same time.

How can they open talks with someone they already talked to? Im sure I read on here he had already talked to them?

It’s good to talk.

Cooper lost players last Summer and improved the seasonal points total this season just gone. Its going to happen again this summer(losing (key) players). If he improves the points total again we go up. I dont forsee this happening but I didnt forsee last season happening.

As it stands this morning we do know that Swansea City have already given Cooper permission to speak with Crystal Palace, and although it was reported he had two interviews we do know that is incorrect. He has though been in contact with Steve Parish at Palace and has been interviewed. Parish wasn’t keen on appointing Cooper, however he remains the first choice for Palace owners David Blitzer and Josh Harris in the USA. Palace were unhappy to pay any release fee for Cooper, however it now seems this is not an issue.

Josh Harris has a fairly long business association with Jason Levien who is co-owner of the swans and both have talked directly over the compensation for Cooper. They have a long business and friendship relationship which saw them involved in the Philadelphia 76ers take over with actor Will Smith. In the world that Levien and Harris travel in the nearly three and a half million compensation is small beer - and we do know Levien was surprised to hear Palace were baulking at the fact they did not want to pay anywhere near that amount.

Sounds like Harris might just go over Parish's head with this and get it done. It surely hurts Palace's preseason as much as ours to drag this out longer than necessary.

But personally I hope we go up playing a good brand of football. We go up under cooper we would not sustain premier league life
