Stating the obvious from Nixon

Letting Joseph go will be a big mistake in my opinion, we should persevere with him and bring him along, he stood out at Wigan, so he's obviously got the quality.

Especially on a free transfer if reports are to be believed.

That would be an abhorrent decision especially after WE handed them close to £1m for Whittaker
karnataka said:The thing that bothers me about letting Joseph go is that there's no guarantee that we will still have both Piroe and Obafemi at the end of this month or, god forbid, either of them so letting a back up striker go is a risky decision at this stage. I'd much sooner we offload Bennett and reduce our wage bill, even if that means a loan where we still pay a proportion of his wages, at least that is still a reduction of our wage bill.

I assume the cost of releasing Bennett at this point in time is what's stopping it from happening. A year left on his contract- that's over a million quid in wages.

Was obviously going to happen, why people thought it would be straight forward moving him and Fulton on etc I'll never know.
Why would they leave?

Contracts are two way streets. These people have families and roots here now. They're perfectly entitled to keep earning a wage here.

Indeed. They were offered the contracts and nobody should be surprised if a player is ride on the back of it despite not playing.
Player trading is also a two way street. Every selling club needs a buying club and agreeable terms. We can’t have reached that position concerning Bennett.
