Swansea City will let striker Kyle Joseph and forward Liam Cullen leave to make space for new arrivals.

Stating the obvious from Nixon

Can understand them letting Cullen go, but not Joseph he's never been given a proper chance, plus we paid near enough a million for him and we're not gonna get that back.

Letting Joseph go will be a big mistake in my opinion, we should persevere with him and bring him along, he stood out at Wigan, so he's obviously got the quality.

I've never seen anything in Joseph myself, so I'm not against letting him go - As long as he's replaced with a quality player. Otherwise may as well just persist with him. Same goes for Cullen.

Especially on a free transfer if reports are to be believed.

Well that would be ridiculous if true.

That would be an abhorrent decision especially after WE handed them close to £1m for Whittaker

It’s from Nixon mind who hasn’t been very reliable when it comes to us recently, but seems to follow Derby very closely with all the takeover news etc, said one of the options are a free transfer with a sell on clause.

The thing that bothers me about letting Joseph go is that there's no guarantee that we will still have both Piroe and Obafemi at the end of this month or, god forbid, either of them so letting a back up striker go is a risky decision at this stage. I'd much sooner we offload Bennett and reduce our wage bill, even if that means a loan where we still pay a proportion of his wages, at least that is still a reduction of our wage bill.

I assume the cost of releasing Bennett at this point in time is what's stopping it from happening. A year left on his contract- that's over a million quid in wages.

Was obviously going to happen, why people thought it would be straight forward moving him and Fulton on etc I'll never know.

Why would they leave?

Contracts are two way streets. These people have families and roots here now. They're perfectly entitled to keep earning a wage here.

Indeed. They were offered the contracts and nobody should be surprised if a player is ride on the back of it despite not playing.

Player trading is also a two way street. Every selling club needs a buying club and agreeable terms. We can’t have reached that position concerning Bennett.

I don't think we are the selling club when it comes to Bennett, it's up to him to go. Someone who claimed to have known Benno through a mutual friend spoke to him at a wedding and said he was going to see out his last year at Swansea, then hopefully sign for Grimsby where it all started for him.
