Cullen out for season & Routledge out for a lengthy time also

Shame for Cullen, and 99% the last we've seen Wayne in a Swans shirt.

Stated that Cullen is possibly out for season rather than definetly.

LIAM CULLEN AND WAYNE ROUTLEDGE FACING LONG LAY-OFFS

Steve Cooper has revealed Liam Cullen and Wayne Routledge are facing lengthy spells on the sidelines.

The pair were injured in the FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest last weekend, with Cullen injuring his ankle and Routledge suffering a calf problem.

They underwent scans in the week, and head coach Cooper expects Swansea City to be without the pair for the majority of the rest of the campaign.

And he admits it may mean the club look to bring in a forward reinforcement before Monday night’s transfer deadline, to support Andre Ayew, Jamal Lowe and Jordan Morris.

“We have lost Liam Cullen, probably for the rest of the season,” said Cooper.

“If he gets back before it will be a bonus for him, but it is certainly going to be out for three months.

“Wayne will not be back much sooner, he has a long-term injury as well unfortunately.

“So, we are down on numbers, and with losing them maybe we could do with an attack-minded player (before the window closes).

“In an ideal world, when you play two up top you need two replacements, and we do not have that at the moment.

“If we do something great, if not we will crack on.”

You could see Routledge's disappointment last weekend, looks like he knew he was likely leaving the pitch for the last time

What exactly is the injury to Cullen, does anyone know. All the article mentions is a scan.

Good luck Liam. Someone is cutting you up, and you hope that they know what they're doing, but you'll never be as good as before you had the injury. Best wishes from, I guess, all of us.
