My ex-wife was (and still is) predisposed to believe conspiracy theories. She can blather on endlessly about the dark truths behind MMR, moon landings, 5G, Covid (naturally). Personally I blame "X Files".

I wonder if it's a form of mental illness / paranoia to have this irrepressible need to believe an alternate reality.
