• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

O for those days! Brilliant times, plastic patio furniture, VAT 69 and Coke (Coca Cola!), proper women and a good laugh with the likes of Plastic Sam and Paul Durden.

Interesting, I bet they have some right tales to tell, from the days down Doras.

I read the article, and this bit tickled me:

"One night I remember there was a new police superintendent who wanted to clean up Swansea and they picked on Dora's as an easy target," Mr Bromage added.

"He went in with his full uniform with his stick under his arm and we told him 'if you go down like that you will get attacked' but he went down and we couldn't stop him and then he came back up.

"His hat was gone and he had beer all over his uniform.

"He was saying 'I want to speak to the manager. I've just been attacked, what are you going to do about it?'

:ROFLMAO:

Mr Bromage posted on here for years. Took a few posters to Plymouth away on his boat.

I know his face, but not from Doras..

For some reason, I am thinking Marthas?

The original shoe bottoms stuck to the floor carpet venue , others tried but failed .

Me and him been having , say a difference of opinions on FB 😂😂 he sits with a well known poster from here who I go to see every home game

Best nightclub in Swansea ever. We used to go every weekend without fail for years. There was a coach that’s used to go from a pub in Neath every Friday as well.

Mr Bromage used to have a little ponytail if memory serves.

He's lacking hair these days, lovely guy is Kev dry as fuck though and could wind the pope up, got a car pickup and deliver business these days, always busy when he's not on a cruise or topping up his air miles, not seen him for long while though except for FB.

Never went there. Valbonne, Marths, and mostly in Harpers for me. Starting off in Shades. At one point me and the lads were there every night sunday to saturday, fvcking mental, but , oh, did we enjoy. We will never ever see those days come back again, it's long gone.😔

Yes, fond memories, and I wonder how long it really took , to go from the dancefloor for a piss and back? It was just a traffic jam of people, :D

Harpers was for the better Night club clientele .

I slummed it Barons , them steps at the end of the night trying to get to get to the exit door without falling over was a miracle .

People laugh about the toilets at Spoons regarding the effort to get to them , been there .

That staircase in Barons puts that simple uphill climb and descent in a Spoons boozer in the shade .
