I don’t think this is unusual. Examples like this pop up quite regularly from other clubs. They rely on the appeal of the club.

Hey masters was in social work hence her working for the council, her PhD is in dementia care
I thought social workers started on about 32K - hopefully her doctorate will open more doors

This is football in General

The going rate for an A licence coach (which the course itself is 4k give or take), with a masters degree, is not much more.

Supply and demand really, which is why talented coaches here go overseas

Fleecing fans out of a 5er/10 here and there.. offering 22k for a master's degree candidate.. fair play to our owners they're gold.. they know the majority of master's degree candidates are idiots.. so they're chancing their arm.. if someone's dull enough to do it, why not have a go.. maybe they're learning after giving Matt Grimes his multi million yearly contract madness

Lol not in Swansea, London yeah not here

That's incorrect. My ex used to interview graduate social workers for both Neath and Swansea councils, and they used to start on £30k a number of years ago.

As it happens, one of my daughters is nearing the end of her social work degree and the starting wage is now around the £34k mark for local authorities.

Funnily enough my Mrs started on 36k when she first started in Neath port Talbot council but that was through an agency but after 3 months the council force you then to go direct, my Mrs certainly wasn't on 30k when she went direct through the council but then she was on the adult care home team and not family and children so maybe there's different rates for different types of social work, what I do know is that she was definitely paid less than her white female co worker who started a month after my Mrs in Swansea council and was also less qualified yet she was paid more. Anyway during lock down Swansea council in their infinite wisdom disbanded all the social work teams and melded them all into one big team that's when the Mrs bailed and started her PhD, Swansea's loss as she was a very good social worker.

Unfortunately it's not. It's a piss take especially when they pay Scholars around 50k + who have no chance of playing first team games
