DOF

Just looked back after my post and that certainly concerned me if that what was said.

They seem to be very naive if this is something they are thinking. They need to toughen up if so.
Ha! Would loved you to have been there and called them naive :)

Where is the concern? They are not the type to be naive, they are majorly switched on individuals and you can tell that from talking to them. Luka Modric is on the board too who knows the ins and outs of everything the club does, and is involved in these decisions. They have way more information than you and I and are able to give a far better view than us.

The decisions that were criticised early on from the fans look to be right decisions after all, Matos has become a very popular manager ( many were slating the appointment before the ink had dried) and the players we signed are starting to look fantastic under proper coaching staff (Benson aside) which many of us suspected would happen in fairness. We are not all doom and gloom…

Speaking personally, I have more optimism that our club is in safer hands under these owners than I have had for a very long time.

Appreciate not everyone will share my optimism but I have seen nothing to dampen it so far.

Out of interest why would it be odd to dismiss one D of F and then get a new one ?

It's pretty much how football works. Clearly they didn't think Montague was up to it so they dismissed him, replacing him would be the obvious thing to do surely ?

I don't think I would have come straight out and called them naive, I would have certainly have delivered in a more subtle way face to face.
I certainly believe their intentions are good but being switched on individuals and individuals who have very little background in football need to be taken into account.
Us fans would certainly have a lot more knowledge of the club, it's history and what we expect. I believe modesty as always has been one of our qualities and it's concerning to hear them claim they are league leaders in certain things.

There has been enough to dampen my hopes. We have already got rid of a manager, a DOF, sit lowly in the league and not seen some of our new signings hit levels that I would have hoped they would have by this stage.

I certainly see hope but I hope they are not of a mindset that they are doing things better than other clubs especially given our poor league position, letting both a manager and DOF leave. These things should see them asking questions rather than being happy with recruitment and making very big claims of their level in that field.

I personally was encouraged that they were aiming to bring in a DOF with experience in the field and we're in no rush to do it with the basis of getting the right man in being priority.

They were advised at the time we needed a DOF.
The talk in the forum was that they are looking for a DOF but we're not in rush because getting the right one with experience in the role was priority. It had been discussed if one was needed, some didn't think we needed one but it was decided that we did need one and the search had started.
