• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

I see I have some fans. If you don't like what I say you don't have to reply under every post I make especially the ones I'm not even speaking to you in.

Lol, listen up chum, you post on a public forum then be prepared for anyone to "jump in". If, in the future you have anything constructive to post, I'll be the first to give you a massive 👍. Have a lovely Christmas 🎄

Very ironic.

So let me clear this up by constructive you mean a delusional post about amazing the club is?

Last time I checked he questioned the club for touting they have a best in class set up while we're sat 20th in the league after spending 15mill on players who haven't hit the ground running and also raised a concern on how can a manager be "loved" after 6 games.

That sounds pretty constructive to me.

It's a lovely afternoon, go for a walk and take in some fresh air...

You’re not allowed to be happy on here mate, you’ve got to pretend that you’re an expert on how to run football clubs and look for the tiniest issues whilst ignoring all the positives.

The power of now.

Uppafuckingswans.
There’s far too many keyboard warriors on here that criticise everything - they seem to want perfection every week - we’re not Man City !
I know it’s controversial but maybe they should get out of their armchair and go to some home or away games every now and then.

You seem shocked that on a fan forum fans are going to defend their team. People come here because they enjoy watching the Swans play football and they want to talk about it.

Yes things this season started really bad, but it’s starting to turn a corner. People can see that and are getting excited by it.

I just don’t see what value you get out of following a team if you’re going to be consistently negative about them. Do you want to be proven right and watch us fail?

No maybe about it, they just aren't.
Stamenic was excellent against Wrexham but has also had some poor games, given he lost his father recently that's understandable & hopefully he'll kick on now. I like him.
Inoussa has shown the odd flash of ability but has been generally disappointing & I'd say the same about Widell. That's not to say they won't go on to be good signings but they have a lot of improving to do.
Burgess hasn't been very good, Idah has been worse.
The Premier League loanees haven't contributed enough.
Early days with Matos but I've been impressed so far.
I really think the likes of Widdell and Inoussa need ten games straight to completely get up to match speed.

As for Stamenic he had a brilliant first game, aggressive and forward thinking but he then dropped off a cliff. It was almost like Sheehan had told him “calm it down and don’t be so positive” and ruined his natural game. I don’t think he’s a CDM and I think Galbraith should go there and Stamenic at no 8. Widdell at ten and Inoussa RW the resurgent Eom LW.

Matos is only a few games in but he’s done a good job in stabilizing the ship and it looks like the players have turned a corner and are playing much more aggressively.

Mama swan met with some of the people running the football club.
Had a good chat with them and a nice experience.
Posted on here that he did so as it’s an interesting thing that happened.
That’s it!
Not sure why people feel the need to then state saying he’s taken in with them etc.

They are probably wrong in saying they are league leaders in recruiting, but who knows. They probably were quite drunk and just over excited and keen and happy with the result.

We seem to dissect things as if looking for an issue like a traumatised fan.

Which we are, oh yes, I imagine we are with our club 🙄🤣🤣🤣
Magicdaps is an expert in everything. How dare anyone state a positive opinion without clearing it with him first!

Well, even I’m cautiously optimistic. I mean, three wins out of four, and the other game a good showing at a bogey ground. The pressure was bloody intense on Matos after WBA and a 5 game losing sequence, and he has handled it in a first class fashion. I’m looking forward to seeing how this develops now.
That’s exactly how I see it. He’s made a definite impact and I’m really Interested to see how we get on. I hope he’s getting it into the players that Coventry is a massive opportunity for them to make a positive statement. A draw there would be fantastic but a win priceless.

I want people to defend us and convince me why i might be wrong. Trust me. But has anybody actually given a counterargument as to why that might be a case? Or have I just received condescending replies and told not to question the club?

I'll give an example on another thread I simply questioned is having 8 backroom staff coaches too much because I don't see anybody else in the league (or world football) with that much of a bloated setup. Instead of a reasonable reply I had the same 2 people tell me to shut up and stop posting unless its positive.

We all want what's best for the club which is why I question alot of what we are doing and not simply siting back and pretending what everything we are doing is perfect because news flash a team which has spent the last 5 yrs having genuine relegation concerns every season is not doing anything perfectly.

When the higher ups in our clubs are coming out and allegedly saying we have a best in class set up I think that is a very fair concern to have.

You may want to direct your questions on back room staff to the club because you won’t get the answer on here. What you will get are people pretending they know and giving their answers as if they do know.

Having just done a quick AI search, we are not too different to other championship clubs in terms of staffing

Thing is if the majority of your posts are negative people will start dismissing them. There are a select few on here that never have anything good to say and it’s easy to spot.

On the coaches thing I don’t know the actual numbers of coaches by teams. But the dugouts have grown year by year as the game has got more professional. I doubt we’re an outlier in this at all.

And what do you actually expect the leadership of the club to say to someone outside of the club in that situation? They’re not going to be saying anything negative publicly that’s how it will be in any team or any company.
