Saw him play Alex Higgins in the Penlan Club around about the late 70’s.

RIP.

Always loved watching Doug play, and fondly remember his UK Championship win over Hendry. One of the legends. RIP.

Jesus christ! Alex Higgins in the Penlan Club. Now there's a recipe for disaster!
RIP Doug 🙏

Doug an ex miner, was renowned as a hard man on the snooker circuit, and not a person to fvck with. He was unlucky to be playing in an era of many good players.

He beat lung cancer in the early 1990's.

A true battler in snooker and life.

RIP Champ 🏆

RIP

I remember his daughter appearing in Mayfair magazine.

RIP
From an era when a lot of Welsh sports stars came from the mines and steel works

My mate beat Higgins in one of those exhibition tours they do, possibly around the same time. As my mate si slower than a limping slug, Higgins was near too exploding! :D :D :D
