• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Don’t know how to copy things on to here, but that Dharmesh guy from Sky is saying a deal is close to being agreed for Downes, 12 million. Hopefully that ends any talk of Piroe or Obafemi leaving.

Fair play I'd be very happy with that outcome.

Great news for the club and Flynn. Hope he get's his chance and does well.

Businessmen out in full force on this one. No doubt £12m sounds like a good deal but when you consider the fees paid for defenders over the last few years by the likes of Everton, Arsenal etc. just hope the club holds out for the full bidding war to maximise profits.

Regards replacement for Downes, lots of folk suggesting Joe Allen as a like-for-like replacement. Both good ball players, but thats where it ends. No room for compassion here. One is big, physical, young & massive potential to develop. The other diminutive, ageing & past his peak with no sell on value. Get it done but screw the likes of WHU, CPFC please 🙏

I wonder if Palace are gonna hijack the 12 million offer with an improved offer, let's hope so.. I'm slightly optimistic that the yanks are going to use this money to get players in

Understand what you're saying here, but we have to be realistic and accept our place in the grand order. We could not realistically refuse a deal like that for Downes. As for Joey returning, again I agree where you're coming from but at least he's proven and he actively wants to be here. I think an experienced head here will be positive.

All my opinions though.

Completely agree with this. I still think Piroe will go but a fee over the £10m mark, despite some going to Ipswich will help our cause with that one.

Great deal for the club and flynny.

With rumours that Palace were trying to hold us to ransom for 8m this West Ham interest is perfectly timed from our perspective. West Ham are in a strong position financially, had a good run in Europe last season and have more consistently been there or thereabouts the past couple of seasons.

Would be the better move for Downes if I am being objective.
£12m is also the upper end of my optimistic hopes for a fee so would be very happy with that result.

West Ham fan too.

West Ham is a great move for him, wish nothing but the best for him, shame we only had him for one season but it is what it is.

Go rip the premier league up Flynn!

Replacement for Noble? I think he’ll be superb there.

So do I, his local club, I wish him all the best, he's been brilliant for us in only one season,

Flynn you will be a Jack Bastard for ever mate 👍
