TIME TO BRING THIS TO A CLOSE

To clarify the first position - I removed two topics this morning - neither of which did the posters or this website any credit at all. Unfortunately, as a result of losing a whole thread the valid posts in it also disappeared so I offer apologies to those who contributed to it for the loss of their posts - I do have access to all the posts so I will try and cleanse the topics in question and bring back the good parts of the discussion (as there was plenty)

Now, onto the topic tonight which went off topic (and eventually was deleted by one of the mods). I will make my stance very clear and ask everyone firstly to remember that we are all Swans fans - and Swans fans on the back of three successive wins at that - that doesn't happen often enough as it is.

Now for the position on Swansea Independent. It is clear from Keith's many posts on the subject that the site runs for the sole purpose to raise money for a charitable case and a situation that none of us would ever want to be in. That - as a bare minimum - should be respected and in itself should go without saying. But it's needs to be said even just for a timely reminder. I will also add here I have met Keith's daughter on several occasions, the last probably being when she was little older than my daughters are now - I cannot comprehend anything happening to them.

It is, of course, the choice of individual people whether they choose to visit a website whether it be here or anywhere else. That choice is driven by a multitude of factors which will include the content of the website, the people who post or just the level of interest in the subject matter. Individual choice is key and will always be respected.

However, it is not acceptable or right that I continually have to delete topics that effectively run down the work done on other websites (you are welcome to run down my work here  ) and this is why I deleted the topics this morning and I will continue to do so as I see fit. And any personal attacks on those that provide the work (or, using one of last night's topics as an example) any other poster are crossing boundaries that could easily result in posting privileges being removed either on a permanent or temporary basis. Those attacks count whether they are against personal friends of mine or someone I have not met who posts here/elsewhere/attends Swans games.

This is an instruction that I have asked all moderators of this website to adhere to and I am sure everyone can agree that the results of it will be for the better of this website and certainly for the important rest of my deleting finger.

I'll sticky and lock this thread so it serves as a good and more permanent reminder where others have maybe been forgotten.

Any questions , my PM box is always open ;)
