Huw Jenkins outlines Newport County takeover plan ...

When he took over we were in division 4.

8 seasons in the Ptemier League our first major trophy trips to Valencia and Napoli.

Now we are in our 6th season in the Championship.
Not to bad if you ask me.

Who gives a toss what Martinez or Jenkins did I don't need to let it go.

Spot on Sir.

There are two types who take the opposite view.

The glory hunting fans who never truly witnessed the perpetual rubbish teams and poor crowds.

The fans who bless them live, breathe, sh1t Swansea City and can’t abide that someone could utter a phrase like they’ll have to throw me out or the fact Huw Jenkins was and is a businessman for his sins.

They’re blinded by an idealism. I absolutely loved the Martinez period. My favourite period because it was high octane and crazy. I was gutted when he left, but that was that for me. I never expected him to stay for 20 years, I mean you were very naive to think such a thing and all the nonsense about taking the back room staff. Every Tom, Dick and Mohammad does that.

If you take the Martinez legacy. Instrumental in us staying in football league. Incorporating the most exciting football in a generation that ended up elevating us to the championship.

Huw Jenkins collectively with other businessmen providing the leadership and backing to lead to an absolute golden period in our history.

On balance I think they did more good than harm….

Let's also not forget that Jenkins and co made up fake board minutes during the selling process too, so yes whilst he was brilliant during his pomp, let's not forget what they did and why we are where we are.

Yes. In the championship.

In historical terms not bad, not bad at all.

Ta-ra Newport County Supporters Trust 👋

He seemed convincingly pro-Trust. Though honestly, when he first took the mic he was that hesitant that I wondered if he knew what he was there for.

Thankfully he warmed up by the end and painted a positive picture of what the future might hold (no mean feat when the audience are all from Newport).

I have no doubt old Huge will do a good job there, like he did here. In a way, he and the other sell outs became victims of their own success. They only became sellouts because they took the club to a position none of us would ever have drempt of at the Patti. If offered that level of payouts along with assurances that the new owners would take us to the next level, can you hand on heart say you would have done any different to them. Sure, they should have checked the veracity of the promises of the new owners more thoroughly, and sure, they shouldn't have kept it from the trust or allegedly falsified records. If Huge doesn't take them to the Premier League there will be no repeat performance. Wonder if he'll take charge of player requirement at County, or has his lrvel of Huwbris reduced?

“Allegedly” falsified documents?

He admitted it in court.

Thought he had but didn't have time to google it to double check!

What a stupid comment… even where we are now is next level and more than we could ever have dreamed of from where we took over… easily our greatest ever chairman.

He took us from the brink of oblivion dropping out of the football league to winning a major competition and playing European football.

There were many other's and more significant players who ripped the Vetch field keys from Petty than Jenkins he came in after with his band of merry men, yet they don't get a mention and more disgracefully didn't get a mention in that propaganda film they made.

Fukhim.

Dineen's comment about the Band being back together sums them all up.
