This new age Twitter fan is generally obscene.

The hyperbole over that defeat at Oxford potentially meaning our season could be a write off is absolutely bizarre. You don't see West Ham fans in meltdown over drawing at Dagenham or even Stoke fans at Derby (3-0).

I'm sure if you looked you'd find them.

Did you say he doesn't clap the fans?

I need a refund on my season ticket.

Preferably in cash 🤣🤣

Seriously we are closing in on the most self entitled spoilt bunch of fans in football

Do you accept COVID boosters as payment boss?

They give us a bad name.

Twitter fans?

You must have missed the match thread on here...

It’s mental how much people read into pre season, remember the year United won every game even against Barcelona and then lost first game at home to the mighty Swans, people are just so soft now and will cling on to literally anything, remember that Graham Potter video of him singing you Jack bastards to the crowd only for him to leave us a few weeks later, it’s a way to play up to the fans and get them on side if things go wrong people will say ah but at least he had a connection with us fans and respected us, I’d much rather the manager came out done his job got us the 3 points and waved the fans after the game that’s all that needs to happen imo for grown ups to get upset of a manager not coming out 5 minutes before KO and after the game to clap again is laughable.

It seems like Duff despite having achieved considerably more in a career not much longer than Russ has much to do to win over some. The guy largely delivers a team worth more than the sum of its parts and there's no reason to think he can't do the same here.

I'm very excited to see what happens and a defeat at Oxford United changes none of that.

Absolutely agree. It's scattered across our fan base but Twitter seems a strong host for such types.

Perhaps. Perhaps not. Can't say I've looked hard enough to say 100% but it undoubtedly seems a breed of fans that can't wait to jump on Duff's back.

Maybe if somebody can send him some gel to slick back his hair, a few tight fitting shirts and a ProPlus for pre match and perhaps he will be winning then. Results mean little as long as we tick those boxes.

If he's not the type to pander to supporters with a clap or a fistpump that's a bonus.

Ha, that's exactly what I was thinking, but then I'm a miserable old git too :D

Didn't work for Cooper. He won enough to get us in the play-offs twice in a row, and still many wanted him out (me included).

Fair point; can count me in that group, too.

Those sentiments were after two seasons, however. Hopefully Duff can find the balance.

Let's not forget Birch "buying" everyone a pint in a pub before an away game - he was "one of the lads" and could do no wrong in many eyes beyond that

This thread just confirms what I’ve known for a long time, this board is inhabited by “divs” of the highest calibre, fair play, some of you take “divvery” to the next level.
