Low risk at around 500k and it matches the initial outlay that we paid for Mykola K.

I would imagine his wage would be low, given that the subs bench is larger this year.......i could see potential in this one.

And let's not forget the possibility of Piroe departing.

We paid a lot more for MK.

No offence daps, but liked the post by accident, disagree we need another striker of that type of profile. Not beyond the realms of possibility Piroe signs new contract with clauses imo.

No offence taken Risc.
Hopefully Piroe does sign that contract but if he does go then maybe Duff is thinking 2 x big guys with 2 x small.

We could potentially pay more than the fee that we initially paid for Mykola(450k).

Times it by 5 and you would be a lot closer to the mark:

As initial payment?

I know for an absolute fact that the full amount if all clauses are completed comes nowhere near that amount you are suggesting.
I can leave that one roll with you.

It does.

That's insane if true surely? His record is poor, besides a few promising glimpses (you could probably make an impressive highlight reel of me playing 5 a side back in the day if they were filmed).

Troyes who paid 300k for the guy and then barely played him must be rubbing their hands with glee!

You don’t know that. You have guessed (again) and are wrong (again).

Leave it roll all you like.

Have to see when he plays, that’s the market rate for strikers I suppose, how much did Simms go for? Big, mobile fellas are hard to come by. Age on his side, that’s why we’ve employed the likes of Watson to find these players early.

Him, and Duff will be judged on how it all works out.

Seems a massive outlay on someone as you say isn’t really proven anything and with a dodgy injury record.

He’s 22 years old, with a rare profile. Quick, big and technical - they aren’t cheap.

Last season was his break out type year, if we wait for him to have a full good season then you are paying Gyokeres money.

Good point, looking forward to seeing him get on the pitch tomorrow.

Absolutely, it’s clearly a carefully calculated risk, the type of signing we should be making more and more.

I’m sure it will take him a little while to settle into a new style of league, but should he integrate as well as hoped then his value sky rockets.

Massive upside and considering his ability, not a great deal of downside. Especially on a nice long 4 year contract.
