When I heard about the reuse of the pitch I went and read the rules, and yes it comes down to the local authority to make the choice. I think any complaint from England would have been futile. Not trying to be clever after the horse has bolted, but why did England not put in more of an objection to Pakistan using an old wicket for this Test?
Basically, win the toss, bat first, win the Test.
Won on the toss of a coin, 50/50 chance.
Comfortable for NZ in the end, although it would have been far from this when they went 0-1 after just a few balls. Another great advert for this format of the game.Fascinating test match happening in Bengaluru. India got absolutely annihilated for 46 first innings, NZ 402. India 462 second innings. NZ need 107, day five to come as long as it doesn’t piss down, day one was a washout. Live on TNT sports.

Pakistan making the most of being at home.
In fairness it's only predicted to be 31°c in Rawalpindi on Monday, so the pitch probably does need drying out a bitPakistan use patio heaters and giant fans to prepare pitch for third Test

Win the toss win the Test...250 could be priceless here. This pitch is going to crumble.
