How can they get away with that under FFP rules, they've already broken over a 100 financial rules, FFP is an absolute joke

He's already earning that amount, plus £20M a year from Nike.

FFP was brought in to keep a check on the likes of Man City but has only succeeded in punishing the likes of Derby, Reading and so on. As you say, an absolute joke.

FFP was brought in by those who already have sky high earning to keep pretenders to their crowns in check. Lets not kid ourselves that it is any other way :)

Totally agree with you, it’s the big clubs closing ranks in an attempt to maintain their advantage. The traditional big four of Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal and Spurs were gate crashed by Man City and Chelsea and when Leicester won the PL it frightened the life out of the “big clubs”.
Pretty sure the “big clubs” also got their hands on the European place that used to go to the League Cup winners and give it to the team who finish 6th in the PL. Newcastle are likely to further upset the status quo under their new ownership. I suspect the reason Liverpool and Man U are up for sale is because their owners have realised tits going to be difficult to compete with City and Newcastle having mega rich owners.

I think you're spot on that the traditional big clubs wanted to protect their position.

Unfortunately the knock-on effect of these oligarchs and petro-states buying clubs is that it's driven up transfer fees and wages for all clubs and made it harder for all of us.

Same as happened in the Koi Carp World, with Dubai, China and Thailand flooding the dealers in Japan with bundles of cash pushing the prices up. The moral of the story is, if the demand is there so will be the Cash!

Another no-shit sherlock post!
