• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Joins Birmingham for 500K, seems a good deal.

Spent more time looking for ways to go down instead of playing football. Cheat, didn’t enjoy watching him here and happy when he went. Caused problems for us with refs not giving us anything because of his persistent diving. Never understood why our fans raved about him.

He's still young, got time to work on the defensive side of his game or he could develop into a tricky winger. With better reffing he'd have won us about 6 penalties in his spell with us and he may have been remembered more fondly.

Needs to work on the attacking side of his game as well, his final ball was generally poor

He was a cheat that crippled us in the box, and the refs rightly had his number. So many chances he had to drive at a man or sling it hard and low into the six yard box and he chose instead to go down, every single time .

Fair enough if you liked him but can you honestly say you’d be happy if we’d just spunked 500K on him?

A cheat? Come on, the vast majority of those fouls were genuine fouls when looked at on replay. Not saying he like 90% of footballers doesn't go down easy. 3 assists and several incorrect penalty calls in from wing back suggests he didn't 'cripple' our attack in the slightest.

500k yes, we need full backs and direct players with pace. It would be a great investment if he finds a settled home.

He had all the abilty to get in to great positions and then bottled it at every opportunity. He did cripple us with his antics and if he’s not careful and carries on the same way he’s in danger of wasting his talent and a promising career. I have the feeling that we’ve already seen the best of Ethan Laird and he won’t change or put in the effort that he needs to turn around his career. We shall see.

I tend to agree 👍
