• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

They are being conservative, but Wales are through, I don't think its even possible for 4 other teams to get 4 points and a better goal difference.

1st place guarantees them a game against 2nd place in Group C (Austria, Netherlands, Ukraine) at Wembley

2nd place guarantees them a game against the 2nd placed team in Group B (Belgium, Russia, Denmark, Finland) in Amsterdam

3rd is still on the cards if Switzerland better our results against Italy/Turkey

At the moment that scenario still results in

50% chance playing the winner of Group F (Portugal, France, Germany) in Bucharest

30% chance of playing the winner of Group B (Belgium, Russia, Denmark, Finland) in Seville, which is the current permutation as things stand

20% chance of playing the winner of Group E (Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Poland) in Glasgow

Brilliant performance, can’t believe we only managed two, should have been about six! Four points should almost definitely be enough to be one of the best third placed teams.

Be very unlikely not to qualify in second place with four points.

I haven’t looked. Which groups are likely to have two teams that get less than 4 points?

Need evidence 🤣. I’ve seen a lot of close shave bad luck. What if our goal difference doesn’t survive Italy?

I'm sorry to be a pain, but it's Italy vs Switzerland up next and I fancy an Italian win, especially with the way they dispatched Turkey

That's what I mean by Swiss bettering our results, if they draw against Italy tonight, and then beat Turkey, we will need to get something in Rome to keep 2nd place.

He's clueless, Morrell and Mepham were horrendous against the Swiss, and Roberts as a RB comes with a great sigh, good luck Wales but I'm going for a convincing Turkey win

Keep it up Skippy, lucky the weather's warm, you wont need that shirt on yer back :P

Nooooooooooooooo

Ffs Skip.

Seville, London, Glasgow, Bucharest or Amsterdam in the second round, they don’t make it very easy for fans do they?

Getting into the quarter finals and hopefully beyond should see the end for Giggs whatever the outcome of his day in court...

I kind of had the feeling that Bale was gonna mess up that penalty long before he actually took it. That said the difference in his performances today and last Saturday were night and day. We will need Bale and Ramsey to be as involved in games as they were today if we are gonna make it past the round of 16 let alone reach the semi finals like we did in 2016.

What am I missing here? I’m hearing that if Italy win we’re through, like it’s a fact - how does that work then? If we and the Swiss lose to Italy and beat Turkey with the same score lines our records and head to heads would be identical. Are people assuming that we’re guaranteed best third place at the very least and regardless of the maths, or am I miscalculating?

We’re not guaranteed anything but if Italy beat the Swiss tonight we’d be hard pushed not to finish as one of the four best third placed teams at the very least.

Added to that, an Italy win tonight means we’ll probably end up playing a second string Italy on Sunday.

Aaaahhh, we’re not through then.

Prosser’s been fiddling the vote again I see.
