Ampadu has been awful this game, it was his messing up of a simple pass that caused that issue in the first place.

As for never a red, as the ref correspondent on ITV said if a player goes over the top and stamps on the ankle in the Euro 2020 referees briefing it is a red card offence.

That said I think Page has gotten his tactics wrong in this game. Trying to play against Italy's strengths than to our strengths.

I feel that both Nico Williams and Ampadu have shown why they are not the first choice players for this team in this match. Both full of potential and this game will be a huge learning curve for them but they are definitely not the finished article by any stretch.
