What are your memories of the game?

I remember going mental when we scored our first goal, but I forgot I had a full bottle of water in my inside coat pocket which had no top on it. I won't make that mistake again.

Dyer got absolute pelters all game for his Southampton connections, and duly stuck it back to them, and started his legacy here, in earnest.

They wouldn’t let us out of the ground for ages afterwards. Some argy bargy in the far bottom corner from us apparently.

It was further confirmation that under Martinez we were going places, thoroughly deserved win against Premier League opposition and the current cup holders.

My memory may be faulty, but I'm fairly sure I remember being surprised by the arrogance of their fans in the build-up. On their forums and in the media, they seemed to think they were going to beat us without having to try very hard. Which was a surprising attitude from a club obviously punching well above their weight at the time, they seemed to think they were a big club. Time has obviously proven how wrong they were.

The highlights in the attached link don't show it, but I'm sure there was a female Porstmouth fan behind the goal apoplectic with rage when Dyer scored his goal. It was up there with the Norwich fan indicating Borini's free kick was going wide before suddenly realising it was in the top corner, and of course, the crying Man City fan who thought we'd ended their title hopes.
