West Brom home Jan 10th 1987. A 3-2 win in an end to end game. 1-0 down after 5 mins, and a Sean McCarthy winner on 89.
Surely someone must have tv footage of that somewhere.

My first ever derby.

My dad had to pull me into a doorway down the side of the prison afterwards because both sets of fans charged at each other. Nuts.

As an aside - that YouTube channel is absolute solid gold, so much good Swans stuff on there.
Same here, I went with my Uncle, never seen anything like it before or since.

Crystal Palace in 1980 which went to a replay. We won 2-1 with Tosh and Robbie scoring, Terry Boyle getting one for the Eagles. Terry went on to play for Newport, Cardiff, Swansea and Merthyr.

My overriding FA Cup 3rd round memories are queuing for tickets for hours outside the old club shop and the queue snaked around Clarence Terrace. Had to dodge school to queue and it was always freezing. Days before Apps and QR codes!

There's something about queuing for tickets that I miss a little bit. It's all too easy these days.

Is this thread only for good memories?

I was at Westleigh Park that horrible night in 2008. I still have nightmares

1999 - West Ham Away at Upton Park. 3,800 Jacks take over Green Street. Joe Cole’s First team debut for the Hammers. We take the lead, only for a Dick to equalise. 1-0 to the Super Swans at the Vetch. Martin Thomas with the goal. Great Stuff. We went up in a mini-bus driven by Jackforever.

2007 - Sheffield Utd away, 5,000 Jacks. I travelled up by train in my usual first class from London. Got hammered in the pub by the station. Bottles of Carlsberg in the ground. Won 3-0 v Premier League United. I got lost in Sheffield after the match, thankfully I was helped by a lovely couple who happened to be Wednesday fans and they gladly escorted me all the way back to the station.

Liverpool 1990 was special for me. I grew up with Liverpool as my second team. I was 15 when we drew Liverpool. I was excited to see my true love Swansea City against the mighty Liverpool. I was really worried that I wouldn’t get a ticket. It was a season when I didn’t have a season ticket, not sure why? However, my next door neighbour Peter was a turnstile operator at the Vetch and he gave me his 2 tickets. I proceeded to put them in a metal ammunition box my brothers had got from the TA’s. Just incase there was a fire in my house the tickets would be safe. Funnily enough I went to the Cardiff Match and had a voucher from the programme and queued up to get tickets for a couple of mates anyway.
I can remember the attendance of 16,098. And we nearly booked ourselves on the replay buses but we were a bit too young especially it being on a school night.

Right I have more, but I need to rack my brains.

2 of my favourite games ,

Swans nil nil with Liverpool .
Lee Bracey in goal what a performance by our young keeper .
Liverpool with their best side couldn't score .
Went to watch the replay lost 8 nil (or 8 - 1 )

Swans 3 West Brom 2
Brilliant game Sean Mccarthy & Andy Melville scored .
Can remember Keri Andrews going on a couple of maisey runs .
It was 8-1. because Spielberg’s brother scored before heading back to Swansea to drive people home in his taxi.

4 of us went 20 000 + there had trouble parking the car missed Terry Boyle goal. David Giles unplayable on the night .
Sadly a tragic night for the Swans family .

Preston NE January 1961 - I was eleven and just moved with family from Bangor down to Carmarthen and was sick of wall-to-wall rugby so my Dad took me to the Vetch - we won 2--1 - I was hooked! We remained unbeaten for the rest of the season in the league and went from near the bottom of Division 2 to finish about sixth.
Unfortunately Preston got their own back a few years later by beating us 2-1 at Villa Park in the semi-final.
Still, Tosh and his crew took us into the promised land and relegated Preston on that memorable day in 1981.

I also remember the gigantic amount of stick Julian Dicks had from the North Bank that night. 😆
