FA Cup

I still love the FA Cup and the crowds this weekend so far have been pretty good. But I still don’t understand why the two big terrestrial TV channels, both of which hardly ever get live football outside of the World Cup and the euros, decided that Liverpool v Accrington Stanley and Man City v Salford would set the nation’s pulses racing.
My guess is that BBC and ITV are traumatised by not having regular domestic football to show, leading them to believe the best way to attract viewers is to show the biggest clubs with the most fans, no matter what the fixture.

Arsenal vs Man United was an understandable choice, but the rest were awful picks. Hopefully Tamworth vs Spurs will give us a measure of exactly what us football fans actually enjoy about the FA Cup. It's unlikely Newcastle home vs Bromley is going to produce any excitement.

Win lose or draw i just hope whoever pulls on the Swans shirt will be able to hold their heads up and show everyone what we can be capable of

Only one that gets the juices going so far is the one that’s on now. These are the games punters want to see.

How much would a replay at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium generate for Tamworth if they hadn't scrapped.

If you'd offered Tamworth a pen shoot out or a replay before the game, what would they have taken?

It's a tough one, penalty shoot out if you win.

I think I'd take the experience of playing at a premier league stadium and the gate receipts which come with it.

On this...

Has anyone seen that ITV are airing Championship games live this year? They've got a Leeds game in a few weeks on ITV1, and then few on ITV4 after that. Completely blindsided me

Imagine having to tell folk that you support Spurs. They dine out on 1961 like our friends do with 1927.

Possibly the worst decision that's been made in amongst all those that are aimed at placating the biggest clubs. Spurs are clearly going to win this now, but Tamworth deserved a replay at Spurs for that performance over 90 minutes. What an experience that would have been for the players and the fans, not to mention the huge financial windfall. Fuck the FA, the PL and UEFA.
