My guess is that BBC and ITV are traumatised by not having regular domestic football to show, leading them to believe the best way to attract viewers is to show the biggest clubs with the most fans, no matter what the fixture.I still love the FA Cup and the crowds this weekend so far have been pretty good. But I still don’t understand why the two big terrestrial TV channels, both of which hardly ever get live football outside of the World Cup and the euros, decided that Liverpool v Accrington Stanley and Man City v Salford would set the nation’s pulses racing.
Arsenal vs Man United was an understandable choice, but the rest were awful picks. Hopefully Tamworth vs Spurs will give us a measure of exactly what us football fans actually enjoy about the FA Cup. It's unlikely Newcastle home vs Bromley is going to produce any excitement.
