Have you tried that Spice Tailor butter chicken yet? Really quick and easy to make, I knocked one up last night after a few late afternoon shandy’s and it being too late for a Just Eat.

No I haven't yet, at the moment I have a certain love for the mayflower frozen curry sauce, it's well tasty. Knocks spots off the packet version.

I wish, seriously how could anyone walk in a restaurant , and then order something they have never tried before? Like it could be a mistake that could cost 15 or 20 plus? Although the missis informs me that she wants to go down the India India buffet, so maybe that could give me an opportunity to try some different dishes.

You’ve had enough ideas on here over recent months. Go and take the plunge.

Two cast iron recommendations:
Medium & tasty: kochi murgh
Spicy & tasty: chicken jalfrezi

We had the dry mix version on Friday night (yes that’s three curries of sorts in three days). I can make a better Chinese curry than the local Chinese can. What’s the frozen version?

Umm, I don't mate how to explain it Coops to be honest, it's just like frozen. :) But I will say it' well tasty, beats the mayflower packet stuff hands down, the only place I have seen selling this is Farm Foods, can't remember correctly but I think it's something like £1.20 ish for 2 packets. Very tasty reminds me of the curry sauce from the vans on the Kingsway back in the 80's.

Edit: This is the one, seems like they sell it in a few more places, but never seen it in any major retailers stores.

I shall give it a whirl. We’re out of dry mix so I need to go to FF which is the only place I have seen it. Will pick up a pack of frozen at same time.

👍

Nice one, and I will definitely give the spice tailor a whirl.

Get on it then. Chuck a loosely chopped onion and/or a pepper into the sauce. Helps to bulk it out a bit more.

Lamb Jalfrezi is a better choice IMHO

I will mate, I think India India, for a buffet in August is on the cards, so that will give me a chance to try different dishes, like in all honesty say the kochi murgh no way am I walking into an Indian restaurant , and ordering that. Like it may be nice, but for a standalone order in an Indian, I think that would be a costly mistake to make, if you are just trying it out for the first time. Imagine I don't like it, could be near on 20 quid down the toilet.

I’ve never heard of anyone going to India India. No idea if it’s any good.

Nice

Sorry, I meant to reply earlier. I have heard it's nice, and the reviews seem pretty favourable, but I don't fancy going there now (she does!) I have read the reviews on the parking there, apparently in Parc Tawe, if you are using like the Odeon or any food or drink place, you can put your car reg into some tablet device in the venue, to get an extended stay past the 2 hours free parking, but I have read quite a few people now saying they got done, after entering details.

I'd rather avoid, it's not that cheap anyway, what the buffet costs.. I'd most probably get a starter and chicken curry in the Panshee for that price, without worrying about the cowboy parking firms down Parc Tawe.

She seems to have her heart set on it though, but I'm going to show her the reviews from Parc Tawe, and if she still wants to go, I'll say well, you will pay any fines.

The Lotus House does amazing curry, and they’ll spice it up a bit too if that’s your preference.

You're talking Pembrey Road Lotus House?

These Spice Tailor bad boys are your friend. Since I told you about them I have tried the rogan josh, these are even better than the butter chicken version. This will tick all the boxes of romantic meal cooked at home, all parking fines avoided, not spent a fortune if you don't like it, deviated away from just a 'chicken curry'.
