Boiler question. Thank you please.
I have a Vailant gas combi that I put in new 10-12 years ago. It’s been serviced on the dot by Cyril’s mob every year and has never let us down.
With all this talk of setting thermostats and turning heating on/off to save money I took a look on the Vailant website and it says to fix the boiler at 60-65 degrees (iirc) for the combi part to kick in and for the boiler to be efficient. Any higher or lower and don’t get the bang for your buck apparently.
So the question is - do I set the boiler at that 60-65 degrees temp and turn the rads down or do I turn boiler temp down and leave the rads up? Is there a saving to be made by cranking the boiler up to make the combi efficient and turning the rads down so it’s not too hot?
