Grandaddy are about to release a 20th anniversary edition of The Sophtware Slump alongside a piano and vocals only version which drops on Nov 20th.

Here’s a taster.

This will be great with some very interesting extras to the original album.
The vinyl box set is way too expensive for me, at current prices anyway ($80 + P&P). Hopefully CD and digital will be a lot more affordable, and digital allows downloading only the new extras.

Saw them in TJ’s around 20 years ago, they were on tour with the SFA for a while back then. Good band. From Alaska aren’t they?

They did tour with SFA in 1999 but that was at Afan Lido. I don't think they ever played TJ's. They are from Modesto Californai.

A friend of mine ordered the box set and she lives in Germany! She is paying some expensive export fees!

I've asked Jason if it will be available over here and the reply is - "working onnnitt".

I highly recommend you take a listen to The Sophtware Slump. One of the most critically acclaimed albums ever in the Indy world.
It was labelled at one point that it was America's answer to OK Computer which I kind of get, but Slump is far from depressing.

This got a lot of MTV airplay back in the day

They weren’t touring with SFA at TJ’s but were about to or just had been. One of the few times I went there. Great show

They got banned for life at the Lido for drunkenly going on the slides after the pool had shut.
