• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

I am not old enough to remember the ABBA years, but this was a big favourite of my parents who would spend their Sunday afternoons spinning records at 33 and a third RPM.

I'm glad they liked them, but where do you get spinning Abba records at 33 RPM, it would have been 45 RPM , most definitely in the 70's.

Wasn’t 33&1/3 the album speed?

Before my time as I was a TDK C90 kind of guy.

God, I don't know to be honest. :)

Funny though, for me I would say singles in the 70's were 100% 45 RPM, but when you chuck albums into the fray, Oh gosh I am stumped, hmm I will say maybe.

That’s it, 45 for singles and 33&1/3 for LP’s.

I used to quite like them but most of their songs were so overplayed and still are, they ended up driving me nuts, just like all the songs we're on the brink of being subjected to for the next 6 weeks which will make me reluctant to go within 200 yards of any supermarket 🤮
This is the kind of bah humbug attitude I can get behind. Having worked in retail during my teen years and being subjected to the same 20 or so Christmas songs on loop for weeks, I am most definitely not a fan.

To stay on topic, I admire ABBA as they clearly wrote and sang very good pop songs, but nothing of theirs ever really clicked with me.
