Favourite kick off time

Midweek, under lights at the Vetch, North Bank, before the East stand days. It was always Tuesday, never Wednesday, and always 7:30, none of this 7:45 nonsense. A crowd of 1,200, 1,300 on a good day but you couldn't really tell because it was dark. Plenty of noise though. Jumpers for goalposts, is it, hmmm, marvellous ...

12:30 KO is nice, if you remember it’s a 12:30 KO (the West Brom game last week slipped me completely and many others it seems!) and you don’t feel dirty necking pints before midday 😂

Yeah remember it well, also used to think to myself “imagine if we ever had enough good players that were called up to the Welsh squad, we’d get our games postponed then as well”. As if that would ever happen 🙄🤣
Wales are basically Swansea B team

Love watching antiques road show, especially when you get some old fogey's bringing in a lamp or something they think is worth 20 grand only to be told its worth 30 quid! Then comes the stiff upper lip and "it's more than I thought" through gritted teeth scenario 😅
You can imagine them forking out a few quid thinking it was an original 😂

Have you ever seen fake or fortune on the BBC?

years ago when the games were on a sunday they were not allowed to charge entry so they made you pay for a programe to game to get in. the cost of the programe was the same as the entry as if the game was on a saturday.

I do like a lunchtime kick off, it almost demands the itinerary of an early brekky and a pre match livener, with the footy acting as a break before the afternoon and evening session. Basically it’s a day out, whereas I find my mornings of 3pm matches fill with mundane rubbish.

The absolute winner has to be a Friday evening game. Get work wrapped up, few beers, game, few beers, curry, home. Not many of these around unfortunately.

That's fascinating, I never knew that.

Some good times on a Friday night down the Vetch.
Some magical European games mid week as well.
Something special for a 1500 Saturday. Probably because I'm old and it's nostalgic
12:30 Saturday I'm not minding as much as I thought I would.
Done the mid weeks to the likes of Grimsby/ Carlisle and other such wonderful, magical places. Places the odd nuclear weapon would probably improve, so not a fan of mid-weeks even at home.

3pm always for me. Good sesh before and after, be it home or away. And for a spell I could still play local league and get to Vetch for kick off. With my kitbag. Never searched. How times have changed.

A good few years ago we were playing Bristol Rovers on a Tuesday night at the Vetch, there were police on every turnstile doing a search, the copper asked my mate if he had anything sharp on him, my mate realised he had his darts in his jacket from the night before (he played for the Eagle), he told the copper he did indeed have sharp objects on him and explained why, the copper said "that's fair enough, in you go" and let him take his darts in with him. 😂👍
