Took this in San Francisco 15 years ago, now we know how to pronounce it properly.

BrynCartwright said:Staropramen for me when quaffing both out and in. Seems to be available in loads of Tenby pubs for some reason. Quality hops combined with centuries of skill makes a very tasty drop. After that its Pilsner Urquell.

Birra moretti winning nowadays
Went up to Plough and Harrow in Monk Nash for lunch yesterday, they had Jemima's Pitchfork on cask, lovely drop, ended up in the Carlton in Mumbles to watch the game, had two Pints of Perioni bloody lovely it was to.

Not for me, I find the stuff bland, Perioni is far nicer and Moretti is, San Miguel another.

The Italian stuff is OK but just not as good as the Czech lagers.... and as for San Miguel... in the UK it is brewed in some vast tank in England (Burton is it?) and just tastes like any other Fosters type megabrew.

Bryn and myself are united on this topic. There is no better than a good pulled pint of Staropramen and I find it anything but bland. I had a weekend of drinking San Miguel not so long ago as Tesco had sold out of Staropramen, I found it much less desirable than the Czech favourite.

Knew you would be on banging the Staropramen drum

Jemima’s Pitchfork is a lovely brew and is up there with Old Golden Hen and Brains SAGold as my top tipples.
The changes introduced by in 2002 (by Gordon Brown/ Tony Blair) to duty rates to encourage smaller breweries have had a massive impact on the quality and variety of beer/ale we can buy, we still have the mass dross served up by some of the multinationals but the smaller breweries have driven up standards, increased choice and we now have some real quality on top.
