Favourite lager

I'm with Cwps on this one... Statopramen is just lovely, and Pilsner Urquell is also very moreish.

Sagres for me and sold in some ASDA stores. I first drank the beer when visiting Sagres in Portugal which is the most south westerly point in mainland Europe. I liked the beer so much I bought a house there.

#TeamStaropramen

Still a lovely drop, Bryn. I haven’t found another mainstream bottle in the same taste range.

Not lager related but your comment last week re Yellow Tail rose made me get a bottle lined up for later. Opening time expected to be around 9:30pm.

I look forward to your review. I don’t usually get to the wine till about 11pm.

Mission abandoned. Someone else found it in the fridge and started to fill their boots before I got a chance to open the bottle. Will have another go next week as I’m not prepared to comment on the bottom third of a bottle.

STAROPRAMEN. My go to beer of 2018, 2019, 2020 and so far 2021. Stella went a bit ‘meh’ when they started messing with it.

Me and my mate went halves a few weekends back on a four pack of Special Brew. We were reminiscing about student days and It must be twenty years since I last had it. Even Special Brew has been toned down.

Stella went down in my estimation and Staro became a favourite and then San Mig Esp Premium. As to Special Brew...yeuch!

That said, what makes you happy is all good to me... unless they fck with it!

Staropramen (got a nice bottle to have with Sunday lunch today). Also like a Peroni. Warsteiner also a nice drop.

Quite like the Asian beers too...Cobra, Tsingtao, etc.

Although I’m not a massive cider drinker, the Black Dragon stuff is lovely.

Son was working in Slovakia until covid last year and brought back some cracking lagers I've never heard of.
Oranjeboom is back. One of the few lagers I like, I'd call it sweet tasting. It used to be brewed in Wrexham back in the day but is now imported.
Asahi is another good one, now made in the Peroni brewery in Italy.
Don't enjoy Wrexham Lager in a bottle much but it's lovely on tap. Been several times for a factory visit.

Hmm, the Special Brew was far from special.

We've just cleaned up last nights bottles. Wife enjoyed the wine and she is a much bigger rose drinker than I am. Only had a glass myself and I'd say that it's moving into the sweeter area of my spectrum but entirely drinkable. We will chuck a couple into the virtual shopping trolley for next week.

Stella was on offer last week on Amazon £20 for30 cans it would be rude to refuse at that price, however i wont be buying again as it doesnt resemble anything like the Artois i have quaffed for 40yrs. I have to agree that Starpramen and 1664 along with Heinekin are ahead of this once infamous Xmas favourite. Dorien Nijs must have long covid if he thinks the taste hasnt changed.

Birra Moretti for me. I bloody loves it.

Would be Moretti or Staropramen for me although recently I have moved towards preferring a nice cup of Yorkshire Tea
