Rumoured that we are having chats with Southampton to sign this youngster on loan.

Typical Cooper player - very young, very short.
Not an impressive history after under 18s
Could be good, Transfermarkt have him at £4.05 million down from £4.5!!!!!
Liam Cullen out to pasteur?

Asked for his assessment of Obafemi's development this season, having previously been a part of every first-team matchday squad in 2020 before his recent exile, Hasenhuttl added: "The problem with Michael was always he would play one good game and then fall back a little bit and was not professional enough to force or keep his position in the team or in the squad.

"This makes it too easy for others to go above him. I think this is what he must learn.

"Once he is in the squad, don’t give it away so easily and try to be aggressive and dangerous in front of the goal.

"I think this is something he misses, but he’s young, he still has to learn a lot and this is kind of mentality but is also kind of quality."

At this stage of the season and with us being so close to the top of the table can we really take a chance on a " trainee " ? We can't wait til March for a youngster to get upto speed Surely somebody with some sort of pedigree would be better.

Charlie Austin, hardly getting off the bench for WBA at the moment... would get us 15+ goals all day long 👍

Austin is on Prem wages. Can rule out anyone in that category.

Oddly enough, no team is willing to let anyone capable of scoring 15+ goals go in January (I know, how rude, right?). Our only option is to take a punt on someone with potential and hope the scouts have done their due diligence.

15+ goals for a championship side flying at the moment, not a doomed Premier league side creating absolutely nothing... see where I'm going here.

And, if the owners were serious about getting back to the promised land, four and a bit months of shelling out "Premier league wages" would be well spent don't you agree 😯

I think we do need another striker ..certainly as back up but it isn't as necessary as i thought it was a few weeks back

between them, ayew and lowe have managed 16 goals...on a par with the top 2 strikers in the league ...armstrong and toney ... 4 of toney's goals have been penalties and armstrong has scored 3 from the spot

if we are going to continue with this formation, our pair will end with 30 plus goals between them ...

the worry for me is injuries .. we have been very lucky to have them both available all season because honestly, i have seen every minute that Gyokeres has played and he barely looks league 2 to me ..... i wish the people saying he hadn't had a fair run would give it a rest ... it was evident from his first appearance that he had nothing to contribute and i am surprised he got as many minutes as he was given (hopefully past tense is correct)

anyway ... would be nice to have another striker but i would be more concerned about keeping what we have got

Austin is a proven goalscorer but I don't think we can blow that much in wages for a player of questionable fitness. Too much for a player who never plays 90 minutes & is past his best.
If, & it's a big if, we have that much cash it would have to be for a guaranteed starter.
