• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

I’m not gammony I just think too many people are f*cking idiots.

I had gammon over the Marquis yesterday, they were out of eggs so I had to settle for a pineapple ring instead...

What’s it like in there these days?

I was just wondering if the 'All Lives Matter' brigade would show their usual complete lack of understanding and be up in arms because it shouldn't just be LBGT+ people who are welcome in the shop. That's discrimination against non-LGBT+ individuals. All sexual identities matter. :o

Yes, they would definitely be up in arms over that. And any other subject that they feel is an affront to their mahoosive masculinity. It'll be something to do with either no such thing as free speech, or immigrants. It always comes back to those things with that lot.

I had gammon this evening, but with chili cheese melted over the top of it. And a tin of garden peas. Very nice it was too.

It's ok, cheap and cheerfull, was quiet yesterday afternoon, the heat has knocked out the draft beer system so the were selling bottles only, it's been the same since Thursday and they reckon it could be next Thursday at least before the get back to normal.

Wasn't there a protest against a LGBT bookshop in Cardiff over the weekend?
Perhaps it was in light of that, they wanted to show they were welcome to the LGBT's.

Very odd that protest in Cardiff.

Used to be a regular haunt when we lived up that way. I intend revisiting some of my old favourites now we’ve no dog and some freedom to get out and about.

Yeah, I got that, but the fact that he’s gone all gammony means that it might be a good idea to let people know that they are welcome, and it’s not for anyone else to decide.

Yes mate. Two weeks ago. I remember saying to you a few months back that I thought his end was near and it was nearer than I thought. He was nearly 17 and had a great life. It was the right thing for him. Awful for us mind. He’s left a big hole after all those years.

So sorry matey, I remember you saying he wasn't too grand a couple of months ago, 17 is an absolute incredible age, I lost one of mine in March, and absolutely they will tell you when it's time. Memories will keep him with you forever. 🌈

Sorry to hear your news ECB.
I love animals massively and know how much they become part of the family and daily routine.
Whether you have a dog, cat, goldfish or flea circus they all become ingrained in our lives.

Yeah, I remember you had serious concerns during the first spell of insane weather when we had that pets thread going a few weeks back. Really sorry to hear that. :(
