No other option for him, IMO. The decent thing to do as Page thoroughly deserves the Manager job full time.

Officially gone now.

I don't know, juries seem to take the side of rapists, abusers and cowards against women these days. No doubt it will be trial by Twatter, with all the 'Giggsy' fanboys mobilising.

Hopefully he gets a fair trial and verdict.

It does amuse me that when it's someone we generally like going on trial, Kev Johns for example, the vast majority on here (rightly) talk about innocent until presumed guilty.

When it's an ex-Man U player who was perceived as having lukewarm allegiance about playing for Wales, he's automatically a 'disgrace' and a 'woman beating thug'.

For clarity, if he is guilty then clearly he deserves whatever he gets and same as Monny above, I hope his trial is fair and his alleged victims aren't given the usual disgusting treatment by arseholes on the internet.

Great post and I agree.
He does look like scum after poking his sil mind.

To be fair though... in this case it's all about the character of the person involved.

Kev John has always appeared to squeaky clean, salt of the earth kind of the guy and his accusation seemed to be out of the blue and no other accusations from anyone else in over 40 yrs of working around kids were ever made. (not to say that always makes people innocent.)

Giggs on the other hand has history for being a bit of a knob... cheating with your brother's wife if pretty low.

Spot on that.

Agree with you and Darran that Gigg's previous behaviour doesn't exactly paint him in a good light. As well as the affair with his brother's wife, wasn't he behind one of the super-injunctions a few years back about shagging someone else?

Still, it's a big step from shagging around (hardly something unheard of when it comes to professional footballers) to what he's accused of here.
