• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Coincidentally, former Nightwish singer, the inimitable Tarja Turunen, guested on several songs with Within Temptation on Friday 😃
That must have been quite the spectacle given the voices involved.

Excellent thanks. I don't think I was in the best place for sound as I was too near the front and most of the stuff that was coming out of the PA was almost behind me or at least level with me and really should have been slightly further back IMO but it wasn't bad enough to warrant moving as I had a great view even through the dozens of mobile phones 🤬 🤬 🤬 🤬 However, visually, it was astonishing. Updated my avatar with a pic I took there. 😁
It’s not a great venue. The acoustics are terrible but I’ve seen some great gigs there over many years.
At 68 now, I try to get on the balcony because the view is great and I can’t do standing at gigs any more.

Yes, I've seen quite a few vids of Friday's show on Youtube and they all sound poor. I usually play and hour's football on Friday evenings but obviously didn't last Friday but my legs felt far worse on Saturday morning after standing still for about 3 hours than they ever did after playing football! I've done one or two sitting in the last few years but I definitely missed the buzz you get nearer the front. I was probably about 8-10m from the stage in Cardiff and the atmosphere was amazing but the show was stunning visually so maybe a balcony seat wouldn't have been too bad on this occasion.
