We are less than 8 hrs into Autumn it only started at 13:43 today mun [I checked ], there's has been lots of Cricket on this Summer although we haven't really had a Summer its been mostly damp and cold, the planning for the tournament was probably planned last winter, they can't predict the weather, if they had planned it for earlier there was no guarantee that the weather would have played ball.

By comparison the 2021 final was held on 19th August. Mid August sounds a much better option than late September.
