Harry Darling and Luke Williams

But playing at a lower level 🙈 jeez guys these replys are powder puff at best 🤣
Doesn't matter what level he was playing at. The lad was instrumental in our rise up through the division because he had bags of ability and made those around him feel 2 foot taller.

Can we say the same about Harry Darling?

Then the manager may want to look at changing their responsibilities, because Darling is terrible at it. Like I said, watch the Leeds goals, he's marking thin air, playing people onside, etc.

He's the best we've got and I'd be delighted for him to sign a new contract on a reasonable wage, but it is absolutely not worth breaking the bank for to avoid losing him. That kind of thinking over the last decade is why Grimes is still here (on a no doubt very decent wage) and such a prominent voice in the

Ashley Williams went on to become a very good premiership centre half and captain his country....no one is saying Darling is at that level. All I'm saying is he has many good attributes for a centre half and will only get better with age (as with most centre halfs).

Can't see it myself. This is good as it gets for Darling.

They reckon the average wage in the championship is between 7k to 10K.

If he's 20k, we're already paying over the odds and anymore than that is criminal for a player of his ability.

A quick google gave a figure of £8,667. There would be a lot of players at the lower end bringing down the average, youth players part of the first team squad etc. The highest paid dwarf that. Again according to google, the highest paid player is Firpo of Leed on 60K as week. Same search reckons Piroe is on 50K a week, what was he paid here? more than doubled I assume.

Did Leeds sign Firpo from Barcelona when they were in the premier league? I can imagine that Piroe's contract would contain a promotion clause in there that would see his wage rise if Leeds got promoted.

The yoyo clubs in the league will have a higher wage bill like we did when relegated.

The average wage of around 7 to 10K sounds about right.

Darling is a solid, capable championship centre-half. If he signs a fresh contract, then I would be happy with that; if he is holding out for a big pay rise, then it is a no from me. Virgil van Dijk he's not

I looked at other teams on that website linked earlier, it shows our annual wage bill for players at around 12.5 million, similar to teams like Derby and Sunderland. biggest annual slaries are as expected the relegated clubs, then I looked at cardiff, over 20K, my god.
