I seem to remember during the late 90's that Ken Barlow sported a beard?

He'd just been sacked from teaching and was driving taxis to make ends meet ...
I also remember him drinking vodka from the bottle in his cab.

Back when my wife and I used to watch it, I remember Peter Barlow going through issues.
I would say it was him.
Even though Ken has had more problems than any man deserves, don't recall him falling apart like that ?
