Homelessness in Wales

We walked up Oxford St Saturday night and there was a chap sleeping in a sleeping bag near McDonalds 2024 and this is happening, some want to sleep rough supposedly though.
There was a show on the homeless in Swansea not so long back. One of the men on there was given a flat, he couldn’t hack living inside and was back out on the street in a week.

No two circumstances are the same, but for those who both need and want the help, there is no doubt that we could be doing more.

Its the open spaces that they've been used to I suppose, this is whats so annoying they are chucking money at the wrong people and to people who haven't contributed anything to the country, I'd say that the majority if not more have contributed at some point in their lives, they don't all hold the begging bowl out.

You cannot discriminate against those who have not contributed ‘stamp’, many of those are in the position they are because of reasons outside of their control.

We used to volunteer at Swansea nightshelter pre covid. It offered shelter during January and February. The circumstances for those on the streets are all different and varied. A frightening number were young people fleeing abuse of various types at what once was their home.

And yet the uk foreign aid budget regularly hits 10 billion plus every year.
We are fckn mugs.

Lots of ex service men and women sleeping rough is an absolute disgrace.
Don't get me started on the Royal British Legion. I said last week that that lot are corrupt at the top. Multi millions stashed away and property literally everywhere.
They do nowhere near enough for our guys who need help.

Power and greed is what motivates a lot of those in charge of these type of organisations.

A million miles away from what they once were.

There’s a lot of money and support out organisations out there for Veterans and they shouldn’t need to sleep on the streets. Organisations such as Links, Boots on the Ground, Help for Heroes and Woodies Lodge work with veterans and offer a range of support including PTSD. There’s also the British Legion and SSAFA, so there’s defo the money, but it’ll come down to getting people to engage.
