Yes, we all know that Woodman is still raw but he has shown that he can gain the trust of his defenders and team mates. An excellent keeper who should keep progressing and improving.

Hourihane was very quiet v. Forest but Forest won most battles on the pitch last night, besides the obvious one. Hourihane is clearly class and can be a match winner.

With rumblings starting to appear in the press about both players leaving their current clubs in the summer, partly due to our potential for promotion and partly due to them probably being surplus at Villa and Newcastle the question is - would you take either of them on a permanent if we got promoted?

Not including Guehi in this because I suspect most would take him but he's not likely to be available.

I’d take them both. Woodman is still young and is getting better season by season. Hourihane has premier league and international experience and oozes class. Would be a good experienced head to have in the team if we get promoted.

I’m going to be controversial... Hourihane hasn’t had as much influence on games as I would have thought. I thought he would come in and control games in the middle, but he seems to have little influence in there, bar stating the obvious of popping up and scoring vital goals.

Woodman on the other hand, yes, yes and yes.

I wouldn’t be so sure about not being able to get Guehi ... I think with Tuchel they’ll look for the big name signings rather than youth products. If we could get him around £15 million I would jump on it.

Agree with you on Hourihane Grimes is far better on the ball but on the edge of the box Hourihane is better i'd take a gamble on MGW.
Freddie will end up here no matter what hopefully. If we go up we should do everything we can to sign Marc within budget of course.

Have to disagree regarding Hourahane , yes he was poor last night...along with everyone else. Personally I think he's looked good since arriving. And would definitely take a punt on him should we go up.
Not sure what people were expecting him to do after just a few games....done ok for me.

I don't think that is controversial.

Don't forget Ayew who is out of contact in June, is he willing of a new deal on reduced wages if we go up? Definitely, but I think he may chase the money and sign on fre elsewhere.

Not a chance I’d be giving Ayew a new contract. Not convinced he’s up to Premier League anymore.

I think that's harsh. We'd need his workrate if we went up.

The postponement affected Hourihane more than anyone. His lack of game time at Villa is really showing at the moment, especially last night.

With 10 games in 31 days (incl last night), and plenty of minutes on the pitch, a match fit Hourihane could be our automatic promotion decider.

If we got promoted and Swansea wanted Guehi to stay, Chelsea might be happy for him to stay here for another season.

I'm not sure Hourihane is the type of player to run the game from midfield in the way that Gibbs-White did for us. He's much more of a Sigurdsson type player - i.e. a set-piece specialist and major goal threat from long-range shots. We desperately needed a player to do this from midfield, and he's done the business.

I think that’s a very likely scenario. If we don’t go up I expect most of the bottom half of the PL would be looking at him on loan and for Chelsea it’s an obvious next step in his development. If we do go up it’s a no brainier as to where he should go on loan and hopefully Chelsea’s view would be to put the lad’s development before a few quid that some other club would offer as a loan fee.

Yeh i agree, Ayew is struggling at the moment so Lowe is up on his own and slowing down by the match. CH is having a settling in period which has now finished in my opinion and he needs to show more for me, or we could have kept Celina. Sounds churlish to say all he has done is score 3 goals but there it is.
