How long can this horrow show go on for?

Bottom line is what kind of team can 11k supporters sustain? A lower championship team? Maybe. We had a nice bump when we moved to Liberty. It would be a shame if we returned to Vetch field averages. This is an interesting time. We have never had sustained failure since we moved to Morfa. Popcorn.

while we play football thats hard work to watch at times, then add to that awful results, and then add in the lack of any urgency from our owners to push the club forwards, its no surprise people just give up hope and ultimately stop going. we have been riding the hopium wave since our relegation from the premier league, but i think even the most optimistic of folks are waking up to the fact we aint going back up any time soon, and if anything we more likely to go the other way, so i think the mericans are going to be in for a shock next season in terms of attendance figures.

Jesus wept, why have I got this feeling that they think to get relegated wouldn't be that bad. At least Russ will then find his level ( even dispute that!). Steve probably thinks we'll bounce back stronger.

Someone tell me I've got that wrong.

Your spirit has been broken like many.
You ve been conditioned to accept this crap and if you. Any see the long term process you’re dumb ,apparently.
Talk of extending his contract is both sinister and plain sick

Nobody should show him any “ support”.

I have a sick feeling that things are about to get worse and Scumbo will be only two points behind come 10pm.

losing 1-0 atm

We've been defensively weak since about September/October 2021. About as much time as it took Cooper's influence to wear off. Since then we've mostly been shambolic at the back, despite us spending the thick end of £2.5m on two central defenders and a goalkeeper at Russy's behest.

It's truly staggering just how much support that a manager lacking in basic defensive organisation skills still maintains in certain areas, and that's not going into all the other areas that he's cocked up in. There is not a single aspect of the game where we're better now than the day he took over, except for some bullshit "metrics" on a spreadsheet.

One point from last 6 games. If we carry on with that form into next season we will get 8 points total out 46 games.

The process is working.

You can see the demise of our club, by just looking at the side that beat us in the playoff final.
Brentford have gone from being a good championship side, to playing like a Premiership side, with a manager who might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but has adapted to the Prem admirably.

What has happened to us meanwhile?

We lost a manger, who at the time wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, with his pragmatic style of football, but certainly knew how to play with the cards he was dealt with, even with these owners, and still achieved 2 playoffs without transfer windows he would have wished for.

The meanwhile for us, is basically, our owners didn’t carry out their due diligence properly, and we ended up with a snake oil salesman, who promises an “Over the rainbow” Philosophy, that involves a “process” that consists of trying to enforce Poundland players to play like Real Madrid.
This will be achieved in the fullness of time, when he’s had a preseason, brought in his own players, and given 2 years to implement it.
Obviously to achieve the Holy Grail of his possession based “Process” football, we would have to buy an imposing, highly technical keeper, who is adroit at passing it out from the back.
It’s easy to blame The Fish for passing it out at all costs, but if that’s what the manager insists on, he has no choice.
Only trouble is he’s not very good at all the other attributes you are supposed to have as a goalkeeper.

So where are we after nearly 2 years of MARTINBALL?
Eight points off relegation, 3 wins out of 20 odd matches, worst defensive stats than anyone, slow walking football, crowds getting lower by the week (17,000 my arse, plus quieter) supporters bored to death with sideways, backwards passing and possession for possession sake.

As you might have guessed I’m one well peed off season ticket holder, who won’t be renewing next season if Russell give me more time Martin hasn’t been sacked

Spot on my friend.

Don't see the issue here. The answer to the question posed is self evident. The answer is, as long as we have a ridiculous talentless imposter as a manager, a hopeless talentless nothing as a chairman and talentless owners that don't seem to understand football or business and can't bring any cohesion to the club.

Oh, and talentless turds littering the pitch and getting picked again and again by said talentless imposter.

You're sitting on the fence again...

I'm really surprised Planet Swans are going down this route, with articles like this.

Phil, no offence at all, you know I have a lot of time for you and what you have given to the club over the years, but I'm not having you no longer speak to people still within the club, friendships you've made over the years etc, you know what's going on down there and how much of a sh*t show it is and the conditions the players and staff are working under. We're trying to force out a manager dealing with all that, what's the end game?

Edit - I realise it's Rob Davies who wrote the article, and fair dos to you Rob you're more than entitled to your opinion, as we all are, I have no issues with that, but as I said in original post I'm surprised Planet Swans, as a site, are going down this route of publishing articles like this.

Sorry I realised I never replied to this - plenty going on.

I take a simple viewpoint that the writing team on this site are entitled to opinions and - as part of the writing team - they are entitled to publish that opinion. THis is a classic opinion of that - there is little point in having a "fans opinion" website if it doesnt publish a wide ranging view of opinions. My view on that has never changed in 20+ years running this place whether that be forum or article

Fair enough.

Its a tough on - I haven't commented on the past two games as I am yet to see any highlight of either of them.

No issue from me with anyone who is a fan of the manager. A read of here today suggests that we deserved to win today which is good news - we all want a team that succeeds.

4 wins in 24 though tells a story that will have more than the occasional person frustrated. And understandably so.

FWIW I thought it was a well written article and fair play to Rob for putting himself out there with the article - always happy to take a balance if anyone wanted to pen one
