• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Apart from agreeing with the comments above, I remember my sister getting a terminal diagnosis many years ago. In fairly recent times she had breat cancer (unrelated to her previous "terminal" cancer) and has passed that by. You have the ability to crush this. The NHS has the ability to give you a longer life than you might expect. You will prevail.

Try to stay as strong as you can mate. Thoughts are with you. Keep fighting. The NHS may have big problems but it's at its best in these scenarios.

Was home (well at my sisters) last night. Had really bad abdominal pain at 3am which got worse. Meds wouldn’t touch it so an 8am ambulance I had. IV back in plus many shots of morphine. No pain now as I write this in the A&E ward. I have a bed.

They discharged me yesterday with strong codeine, paracetamol and anti sickness meds. Despite this not working orally (only intravenously) I had my doubts. They obviously wanted the bed and now they have a failed discharge on their hands.

I need morphine based drugs as cancer pain fucking hurts.

Oh sheesh.

Back when I was a wee lad I stopped at my grandparents one night. Grandad, who had cancer, kept me awake all night crying out in pain. It was fecking dreadful. Fifty-odd years later and I've never forgotten that night. It sounded like he was in pain I couldn't even imagine.

Anyway, on a more practical supportive level, it sounds like you're in the right place so they can sort out your meds. Paracetamol? FFS.

It’s a bit hard to write this but I was mentally prepared for this scenario.

I just got news.
I have a malignant tumour about 8cm and it’s spread partially to lymph nodes.

They are going to fit a stent in 2 weeks so that I can actually eat better food more complex carbs like pasta etc.. in order to bulk up for chemotherapy

They can’t cure the tumour but only shrink it with chemotherapy. It’s not a short term thing.

Christ. All the luck in the world to you mate. I have two friends that have got though similar. It can be done.

F*ck me man, a real shock to read that. As others have already said, this can be beaten but we're all backing you to do it every step of the way. Wishing you every bit of luck.

We have a similar thing in the family right now. Not great but you have to think positively. Wishing you all the best Sir.

Can only repeat what others have said, stay positive, don’t give up (easy to say I know) and hoping to hear of you on the mend.

Thank you for feeling you can share your journey with us strangers but we are all JB’s

Buddy.

Am thinking of you, at this really difficult time, but as you are a Swansea City FC fan, no one is better placed to fight this piece of crap. As a SCFC fan you have the biggest heart, toughest skin, longest stamina and most positive hope of any football fan.

Fight that horrible little cnt. That chemo team at Singleton will make the fkr rue the day it had a go at you buddy. They are experts, and my brother is going strong because of them. Hwyl!
