Great video here. Shows what the club could achieve and what we should be targeting, again.

Michu was clearly our black sheep scoring machine, but the team as a whole under Laudrup, were a much more attacking, opportunistic force to be reckoned with.
It's still hard to believe we had him for only £2mill... !

Despite retaining many players from our time in lower leagues, this 2012/13 season showed what the Swans could do with a shoestring budget and determination. It was the sheer mentality and confidence however, brought by Laudrup, that synergized the squad. The team were free-flowing and unafraid to take their chances.

If the conditions are right; and if we work on confidence and player mindsets, with this team there's no reason why we can't achieve this greatness again.

COYS!

I know what you mean, We were a bit special, weren't we? Don't think I'll see anything like that again in my lifetime, just grateful to have seen it once.
You never know!

I always said that I'd never see us play in the premier league.

Definitely right about being grateful for those times

Yes. And some of us were fortunate to see the Toshack era also. Third time lucky eh, never say never.

Yes Tosh era so special. Not shown live on tv. You had to be there to taste it. Favourite moment of that era.

I’m one of the lucky ones who’s seen both the Toshack era and the Premier League era.
A couple of big differences, the Toshack era was short lived with just two seasons in the top flight and just five in the top two divisions. The current era is 17 seasons and counting in the top two divisions and seven in the top flight. Even longer than the post war era of 16? seasons in the second tier but none in the top tier.
The Toshack era seemed more home grown with the stars of the team being Robbie, Curt, Wyndham and Jeremy Charles. We were considered unusual in having Ante and Jimmy from Yugoslavia back then. The modern game is different with our stars coming from all over the world with a smattering of local boys like Ben and Joey. Both eras had other Welshmen like Leighton and Ash.

It’s rarely been dull over the years. Then Russell Martin rocked up…

Two brilliant eras of playing in the top tier of English football but what disappointed me more was the fallaway of fans in Tosh's second season in the First Division when after 3 league games Swans were second in the league and had already witnessed a Latchford hat-trick v Norwich City.

Around 11,500 fans for both the opening fixtures at the Vetch Field rose to over 20,000 for the Liverpool match but by mid-October gates had dropped back to around 11,000.

By mid-December for the Man United game the gate rose to 15748 only to see two games in January and March to fall to approximate 8500 each, only to rise to 13300 for the last home match of the season v West Ham United.

There have been many theories why gates plummeted - local economy dropped, a cut back in signing NAME players - you make your own mind up, but in all reality isn't it the same now.
