I don’t agree with people who say Vipotnik isn’t good enough for us. His goal scoring numbers are miraculous when you consider how bad we’ve been in attack for the first 3rd of the season. His all round game tends to be what people point to but he is often an important part of our build up play, holding the ball up well or providing that outlet for a straight central ball. His touch is underrated too, I’ve seen him receive a few wild and uncontrolled passes this season and accurately distribute the ball with a single touch. Personally I think there’s more to him than just a powerful shot.
A lot of people put a lot of effort into criticising him last season and old habits are dying hard.
His all round game is decent, as in fact it was last season too. He's scoring more goals, but he's also clearly a lot more confident. That's a massive thing for a forward.
Most of his goals have come from inside the area as well, so he's not living up to the "all he can do is shoot" idea that some have moved onto either.
